The US cannot win the trade war with #China.

Walmart pulling forward guidance tells you everything you need to know. Price hikes on all things out of China are being passed on to either the American buyer (Walmart) or the American consumer.

And I’ll also repeat again. China hasn’t even begun playing hardball. Export controls will be the point when that changes.

I dunno… where is China going to sell their stuff? If I had to bet which economy collapses first I’d say China’s. US has higher incomes going for it.

EU? Then EU places tariffs on China?

Considering how much of all economies currently reliant of government largesse through printing presses globally, define collapse. China simply leverages currency control

It’s like saying, “I can’t climb that mountain,”

—what you’re really saying is, that

“You don’t WANT to.”

I’m just hoping the conflict doesn’t turn hot.

Agreed and I’m fairly certain China isn’t looking to go “hot”. Issue has been the constant poking by the US over both Taiwan and the Philippines.

This needs to happen before we can bring more manufacturing and made in the USA products back home. We no longer need to look on the back of every product we own and see "Made In China". Even if that means cutting ties with them all together.

So here is my genuine advice to you. Suck it up buttercup, have some faith in the USA, and man the fuck up.

O’Leary is a grifter and will always be a grifter. The longer he and his ilk continue to get media access the longer China wins.

The intersection of ignorance and arrogance. A dangerous place to operate.

Yeah, but everyone agrees Walmart isn't good for this country...

Win a trade war? That makes it seem like the point is for something magical to happen with China.

The outcome he's hoping for is that global comprehensive tariffs push companies to come into the US if they want to do business in the US...

I lived in Indonesia (in AnHui rn) and saw this a lot. Many things are taxed 100-200% and you'll see companies set up shop locally so they can compete. Honda for example.

Happened in Argentina too. Ultimately, the victims of trade wars are the consumers.
