Replying to 4f45c39a...

I just received a rejection email with some personal notes (not a form rejection, I mean) and I'm tempted to respond to it, but when I was starting out the golden rule was to never respond to rejection emails. I wonder if that still holds, or if it is okay to tell the editor thanks for those kind words?

I am not an official person in this, but I cannot imagine a sincere thanks for feedback would be taken negatively. I would just take care that you aren't communicating "thanks for the feedback BUT ACTUALLY you're wrong and shouldn't reject me." Because that probably goes over like a fart in church.
