So far they are saying that their next console should allow backwards compatibility. Of course it’s still a speculation and it doesn’t mean we can’t get “dock mode only” type of compatibility.

My opinion is it could actually be just a “Switch 2” with better HW. Why?

Because since they sold ~ 130 mil. Switches, that is a nice pool to rise from when you say “better HW” and “backwards compatibility”.

That's probably true. That and the environment has changed so much with everyone exploring handhelds, it's hard to stand out.

As long as they launch with one or two bangers they'll be fine, I just hope they learned from the Wii U on how not to market a direct successor
