Bluesky is experiencing significant growth right now, driven in part by recent changes to Twitter’s blocking system.

Personally, I support Twitter's decision. The previous implementation of blocks was ineffective, as it could easily be bypassed by logging out or creating a new account. Blocks were broken.

Nostr approaches this issue in a more balanced way. Its block or mute features enable both parties to maintain their autonomy. One user can curate their feed as they see fit, while the other is still free to engage with content as they wish. This creates a win-win situation for both sides.

Why are users flocking to Bluesky?

Bluesky operates in similar fashion to Twitter's old policy. Blocking a user on Bluesky prevents interaction and hides the user. Blocked accounts cannot like, reply, mention, or follow the user that blocked them. Their posts, replies, and profile in search will also be hidden. Again, this is all circumvented by using another account.

I prefer Nostr's implementation. How about you?
