Not to unchained, but swan. It wasn't bad.
Then I moved the Bitcoin to swan to cold storage last year and just paid the extra income tax + penalty today. Worth it. No more IRA 🙌
Getting disbursement of Bitcoin was the easiest thing I ever did with that IRA. The custodian provided the proper tax form.
That’s awesome! My personal goal for this move would be to avoid any taxes (already had to do that via backdoor Roth) so I may have to leave it sitting there and just set up an inheritance plan for the offspring once I celestially transfer.
That's not a bad idea. Having an IRA that holds real Bitcoin is so freeing by itself. And there are better custodians than Bitcoin IRA nowadays 😣 They're the worst.
And if you or your heirs ever want to, it's easy to disburse it on chain.
Expensive but easy and thorough.
They send you hardware wallets, inheritance planning stuff, and have easy enough onboarding that even a no coiner could do it.
I’m a happy customer.
You’re referring to the $250/year right? I mean depending on the alternative ETF/mutual fund expense ratios the Unchained fee will probably be cheaper in comparison in the long run 😂.
No additional fees on top of that, right?
