There’s a script that makes it easy to get going on a Linux server. Since it’s something more experimental (and for the kids), you can just turn it on whenever you want to make it available.

Excuse my density, but the documentation refers to a server. Do I need to partition part of my hard drive and install as root?

Hm I don’t think so. I have mine running on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (i.e. not the server version). Whenever you want to start Alby Hub, go to the folder where it’s installed and run ./start.sh
