If Nostr won't allow unlimited editing and complete comment deletion, it will never replace Telegram.
Also. . . unlimited file uploads, up to 2 Gig in size each.. Good luck with that one on self-hosted Nostr relays.
For someone using the handle FreedomTech, you sound perfectly happy using Big Tech. Have fun with that.
You have non idea. I can almost guarantee I use less Big Tech devices, software and devices than you.
I'm just pointing out two weekenesses in Nostr when compared to Telegram.
Telegram has really good chat features. Hopefully Nostr gets the ability to edit and delete a message across all the relays that the message is stored on..
Nostr can absolutely have those features. Clients can be created to leverage already existing parts of the protocol to allow for things like editing. And I think there are ways to even make that better. I don't know if anyone has suggested it yet but one possible improvement would be to use the same kind of algorithm diff does to publish edits to notes.
One beauty of nostr is in the chaos though. Perhaps you are someone who would like to see the original post rather than any edits. Or see the evolution of the edits. You can choose that too. The protocol can handle it.
There's really no reason that can't happen quickly. The interface can easily be developed. And it would be impossible to do a worse job than the centralized company does at preventing scamming...
