Bitchat has probably boosted the traffic on my relay by an order of magnitude compared to what I was seeing with Amethyst’s outbox/inbox.

Honestly, it’s frustrating, because Nostr chats in Bitchat are a piece of crap.

Yeah, they use the closest relay to the person. Yours might have seen the traffic from that.

I know. I’m working on a client where I’m trying to implement different kinds of Nostr chats, maybe even come up with a few of my own.

It's circumstantial. 50k downloads from Nepal because it was an emergency situation and they didn't had access to traditional social media. But everything will go back to how it was, in a couple of weeks or months. No one will keep using Bitchat or Nostr.
