Users don't need to give up self custody for privacy.

Keep misleading users about the "freedom tech" in which users don't own keys and need permission from mints to transact.

according to me, LLM's are very bad at privacy & security generally, def not cypherpunk.

Yes, most.

Some are great! And we hope to support more in this vein

ecash really should have been tabled until the necessary building blocks are in place to make it non-custodial

It can never be “non-custodial” in the same way on chain Bitcoin can be

how do you define it? if I can compel a contract on L1 to give me back coins I am entitled from a mint, even when the offchain component of the mint is down or censoring, then I wouldn't consider that non-custodial. unilateral exit makes an offchain scaling solution non-custodial.

I mean. I guess never say never. I just wouldn’t compare current Ecash tech to on chain BTC in this regard

No one cares about your silly crusade

HRF *never* misleads users about self-custody. It is the bedrock of our financial freedom training. Ecash is always explained as NOT self-custodial and that users make a tradeoff to gain privacy

But everyone here knows this and there is years of evidence so your whining must have to do with something else

Don’t waste your time arguing with this clown I blocked his dumbass

i think its been shown most people are willing to give up self custody for amounts smaller than $100.

as long as there's a way to go onchain, you can't really fault the HRF for focusing on privacy over custody on small amounts. I mean you can fault them but everything is tradeoffs :P

We welcome criticism, it’s the only way to get better, but this isn’t criticism of us, it’s sour grapes over all ecash protocols more generally which predate us by decades

My focus as an engineer is to improve self custody UX so that users don't feel the difference. I cannot blame users for it. LN failed to achieve this for several reasons:

1. Channel management

2. Intiial liquidity

If organizations like HRF keep supporting custodial solutions things can take time. However, I am hopeful Ark will provide better alternatives for application developers and users.

We relentlessly support self custody (always have, always will) and literally just had Ark present at our event a few days ago. V cool project. Keep coping! ✌️

There is nothing to cope. I have a different opinion on certain things and free to express myself. I had watched the OSLO presentation about Ark.

You can and should express yourself however you want, however if you misrepresent others or fabricate things about other people, you should expect that they will respond

ECash is fantastic for privacy

U r a clown 🤡
