Those who are saying that ordinals onboarding too many people to bitcoin are 🤡 Honestly it feels other way around!
Discussion
What do you mean ?
I meant that ordinals is dumb 💩 attracting only shitcoiners and scammers ! I just had a talk with a guy whom I onboarded a few years ago and he said that the bs with jpegs on bitcoin makes him want to sell 🥴
Yea, 3 things worry me
1. The pump and dump,
2. Each block filled up with stuff other than more potentials of financial transactions (buy and sell real goods and services globally)
3. Reward >fee a put off to miners
I listened in on casey’s podcast with Odell and read his blog. The idea was to have only solid art and not monkey JPEG’s etc. And variation of use cases being built ard it
Has it remained classy in your opinion ?
If he wants to sell bc of bullshit ordinals then he should.
How do people expect bitcoin to serve the world if they can’t handle a few shitcoiners?
To a further point Bitcoin IS and always be used by people you don’t like. This includes the network and it being used in a way people don’t like.
Pearl clutching isn’t a sound strategy.
Can’t we distinguish between the Bitcoin network being used by people you or I don’t like (fine), or being used to purchase things which you or I disapprove of (fine), and the Bitcoin network being used to do things other than sending payments?
yea, true. I am also trying to understand from a functional perspective - how did taproot ease this up ? can anyone code anything on bitcoin ? what if there is child porn nfts - do we want a child to be permanently traumatised that way ? how does this dissuade miners in the future ? i see art ready for pump and dump, whats the impact of people who use bitcoin as money and how does it dissuade them further?
Concur!
They're contributing to the security budget and incentivizing development on L2s.
I like it.
