I think a big reason they don’t like it is because we’ve become habituated to hit “like” for posts that we want to associate ourselves with for whatever reason (in a work setting, I think it’s mostly performative).

And of course, posting a like is the lowest form of commitment in social media, easier than any other form of engagement other than simply viewing. I suspect people still want to fulfill that “habit” but don’t want to put in the extra effort of commenting or zapping.

I believe in time, zaps will replace likes universally. It’s the logical endpoint when you have the ability to send digital value instantaneously. Pushing others towards that endpoint isn’t a bad thing. But it will be uncomfortable for many
