@voice is a semi good reader app, I wish there were a better FOSS alternative.

I have found a really badass use case. It turns out you can send a notification to your >ungoogled< GrapheOS without Google Play Services from Home Assistant and it will play the notification via TTS on the device
It opens a lot of home automations from emergency notifications to just casual notifications about important stuff.
Try the GLaDOS voice for English. You need that!

It may be secure, but it doesn't work for my needs. It's missing some key functional details.
