there is three main places on the planet that are going to be relatively too high and too far inland: the eastern rocky mountains, the northern carpathian mountains, and the mongolian plateau. everything else is either too low or too close to the ocean.
i'm picking the carpathians because i already know the region, i know at least two of the languages in the regions where i think at higher spots it will be safe because of how much mountains there is in the southwest balkans, how small the amount of large water bodies there is in the middle of eurasia (ie, caspian and black sea), and actually i'm just gonna go with central eastern serbia near the border with bulgaria because i think that the location is right on the pivot point where the polar rotation will occur, so the tsunami waves from the ocean slipping up over the land will be at their lowest at these points, and as it is, only from the mediterranean and agean seas. it's also reasonably far from any likely active volcanoes, italy is sure to blow up, and so are several in the greek archipelago, indeed, it's possible new activity could break out in the serdika plateau around the area of Sofia, but the carpathians are massif, huge thick rocks that are unlikely to part for a volcanic channel to open up.
south america is all gonna be gone, on both sides, surrounded by two enormous oceans, and even the highest peaks of teh andes will likely be inundated. maybe the very central, most elevated points in the middle of australia might be safe too, around Alice Springs, being so far from the ocean and over 800m height.
there is a formula i've heard, the number of km from the nearest ocean, and the altitude, add those together, and if you are under 1500 you probably will need a boat, and it has to have sails, because all electrical devices are gonna be toast, and most metallic objects exposed to the atmosphere will be bathed in radiation for a short burst that will cause many things to catch fire.
and in addition to being in a dry spot, you have to have enough stuff stashed, ideally, in a cave or several metres underground, where you can take refuge when the sun blows up (it won't supernova, it's a small explosion, but it will irradiate almost everything on the surface to death). and then afterwards, you have to be prepared to survive with essentially stone age technology, so it would be essential to learn blacksmithing in order to be able to repair the stash of metal tools you put in your bunker.
there's enough time to do it, if you care, and understand what is coming, but most people don't, and won't. and i don't think this is going to be the worst of it. global communism is right at the doorstep.
