I’ll be the first to say (or maybe not)—especially with Elon’s stunts in politics—eventually people will be migrating to Nostr (and other options) as crackdowns and the like kick up there. Myself and others FLOCKED to X after he bought it and decensored it (largely). I expect that, with him being a larger player in the upcomming political cycles, internal and external pressures will force censorship and flight from the platform. Just the same way that lockdowns irl brought people from blue states to red states only for them to keep voting for the things that forced them to flee their blue states… so too, Xers (or whatever you want to call them) will migrate and set up shop elsewhere. Nostr WILL become X/Twitter (at least in terms of the kinds of content/conversations had here) for that reason alone. Those conversations, for better or worse, will spread to other platforms. Because Nostr is truly permissionless, the ones that find themselves will likely stay unlike the ones that move to, for example, the infamously ban-happy bluesky.
