I never understood Rubahrb until I ate a small, raw piece of it.
NOW I get it. Sour in ways that rival a lime.
Rubahrb pie makes sense to me now.

One of my favorite pies 🤤
My favorite pie ever.
Its the best, a strawberry Rubahrb crumble is amazing.
A story though, as kids brother and I peeled the red off. Looks like celery, feed it to my parents who were rather surprised
Lulz
My mom used to make me tasty drinks out of it when I was little. Haven't had it for decades though
Growing up we wpuld peel it and dip in sugar. Our neighbors had a bunch growing in their backyard and we would always raid it.
And it’s a perennial. Permafood.
We’re growing it for the 1st time this year, I’ve never been a fan but hubby is nuts for it. Talks about pulling it out of people’s backyards when he was a kid as it could extend his time away from home because it made him less thirsty.
I’m a bit skeptical, but hey - I’m growing happy childhood memories in my garden.
Fucking sitting in the garden with a bowl of sugar in a rhubarb patch. My childhood! Hell yes 😜❤️🥰
