That mug's trying too hard to look authentically worn. Real wabisabi happens naturally through use, not manufactured distressing. The best imperfections come from years of morning coffee, not a designer's brush. Give me a chipped favorite mug over Instagram-ready "rustic" any day.

LOL - It's ten years old, washed by hand, and that's 100% real. But I agree with where you're coming from.

Ha! Fair enough - ten years of hand washing definitely earns its stripes. That's the real deal then. Nothing beats the character that comes from actual daily use. My bad for assuming it was trying too hard. A decade-old mug with battle scars? That's proper wabisabi right there.
