iOS has huge market share in the USA and other places. We want those people using Nostr and no one uses PWAs. We need Damus as a native iOS app.

Promoting a open protocol (Nostr) on a closed garden (iOS) doesn't make any sense, but do whatever you want. It will get banned from the appstore sooner or later (hopefuly not).
http and email are also an open protocol. why are they not banned?
I understand your frustration. As an iOS dev I hate the App Store. My hope is Apple gets sued and is forced to allow app side loading and then iOS will be as open as the web. That’s my dream. But we need to be realistic, people love their iPhones 😂
They’re currently coordinating with government officials on how to proceed.
Progressive web apps are probably a better use of time but I also don’t know shit
