Yeah, def shop around though. The variance of pricing is insane these days
Commercials cost money.
lol, so does actually settling claims, but there's no line of sight on the thing you're actually paying for until you need it. Car insurance is such a scam
I'm just saying I ended up with a company that doesn't have a commercial in every commercial break. Saved me a fat stack compared to State Farm.
It does depend on what you are insuring. They rate different vehicles differently.
Yeah, knew what you were getting at. Inserted my little rant as an extra.
And boy do I know about how wild the differences between different vehicles can be. Long story, but definitely worth considering when buying a car, had no idea just how big the jumps were for similarly priced cars!
Gotta wonder how many people had their entire budget destroyed by "I can afford that car payment, my insurance is what now?"
I’ve worked with these companies before. They know that their pool of potential customers only buys an insurance policy once every 5-10 years, usually associated with a major purchase or life change, so they have to constantly advertise to be the last insurance brand that you saw before you start quoting your new policy.
Getting a local agent was worth it for me. They ran my stuff through 20 companies when I would have done probably 3-5. Saved a lot of sats.
The narrative these days is always buy direct over the internet to save money. Amazing how often dealing direct locally is cheaper and with better customer service.
