I sometimes get a pink dot above the messages icon to show there’s new ones. But when I click there I don’t see any. 🤷🏼♂️

Under Settings -> Notifications you can untoggle the notification dots for different tabs, if you'd like to do that

In the Damus DMs tab check:
1) requests tab - new DM requests sometimes appear here
2) check if your friends/WOT filter is on or off (top right DM tab)
some relays might be filtering spam messages, so you still might get the notif, whilst not displaying the msg
why is it that i post/reply on one client, but sometimes don't see a response to my post/reply until i open a different client? :3
