Cold plunge or sauna, if you could get either, which one would you get first?

Sauna

Sauna.

shower -> sauna -> cold plunge is the only correct way to do it 💜

But if you could only purchase one, which would you get?

i’d argue that a cold shower is close enough to an ice plunge, that you wouldn’t need it that much.

sauna is enjoyable spa kinda vibe, cold plunge is more of a muscle recovery type thing.

depends really what you’re looking for bud

We used to use the sauna to sweat out the alcohol or at least attempt to, back in school. I didn’t dive into the health benefits until recently so I’m intrigued by what people think is more beneficial.

I used to use the cold plunge after workouts. But I see people now using it first thing when they wake up. So I’m curious of the additional benefits.

Thanks buddy!

i would try both 😁 i think the diff orders have diff benefits mentally and physically ✨ here is rogan talking about plunges before and after working out 🤙

oh wait i think i understood your question wrong. either or...dang that is tough but i would go cold plunge for the inflammation reducing effects 🤙

i do sauna and cryo 3-4 times a week. sauna is great for detoxing but i would argue wear sweats while you work out for a similar benefit. in health the biggest cause of aging is inflammation. the longevity community calls it inflammaging. anything you can do to reduce inflammation has a slew of cascading physiological benefits. while both sauna and cold plunges are hormetic stress and good for health, i think the benefit of inflammation reduction from a cold plunge sets it apart. as well, it is mentally hard af to wholly submerge in 50° water. that rewires your neurochemistry for longer term preference naturally. this is why i would go cold plunge hands down.

I guess I know what to do! This is great info thanks!
