As a member of the OpenSats Nostr committee I must say nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx rarely says anything about the Nostr grant proposals and he doesn't vote on them either. As far as I know the Nostr grant approvals and disapprovals have been following what the Nostr committee decides. Maybe he is manipulating us all from a distance or maybe he is flipping the decisions at an upper layer, but I didn't notice.

An entity moving disproportionate amounts of money will inevitably have market-skewing effects.

I know you guys are trying very hard to avoid this, but it's an economic effect you can mitigate, but not escape.

That's why normalization of paying for services is so essential. It's a cultural change that adds another major payer class (npubs) and increases economic balance in the system.

And takes the focus off of one particular person.

Agree.

Even with best intentions Odel whether true or not is the face of Opensats, which is the #1 money injector in nostr (unless there are stealth nostr VC investment in tens of millions).

There will be scrutiny.

Can crowd wisdom solve this OpenSats issue?

Yes, at least, conducting an automated canvas to aid discovery and create a preselection.

Would probably throw up more non-English speaking devs, for instance.
