It would be hypocrisy (having a beam in our eye) to ignore that we’re sinners, too. The beam is taken out by Christ when we repent and turn away from sin to follow Him.

It’s our duty to sharpen others and strengthen them through correction, but humbly. The kingdom of God is the proper focus, not our own ego or status.

This is my understanding of the verse you quoted.

But what I had more in mind is that whatever God has in store for his church is ordained and for our ultimate good ("impossible that it should not come"). In my Amil reading of scripture that's largely persecution. Just because it is ordained by God doesn't mean we don't resist the evil ones "through whose hand those offenses come". But your point stands as well.
