That is so fascinating.. I had no idea the importance of soil health, I guess I never thought about it in that depth..

I am curious.. is there lead in soil by chance?

Soil Science is indeed fascinating. Touched upon it during my Biology degree way back in the 90s - one interesting factoid was/is how golf course management results in some of the least biodiverse soils out there.

This makes complete sense to me. The grass at a golf course seems almost fake and extremely compact. It’s cut before it has the opportunity to generate any real nutrients and so it’s not really having the chance to recharge and filter out pollutants and groundwater reserves.

Yep. Also pumped full of chemicals to control other plant growth and “pests”.

Just awful.. and to think that evaporates into the ionosphere

Lead is not typically found in soil, but it can be found in dirt I suppose. Soil more commonly known as “black gold” should be full of living microorganisms and void of chemicals, pollutants etc.

Check out the book, “Dirt to Soil”

Awesome! Thank you! Looking it up now.
