There’s a trend on YouTube now among kids channels and it goes something like this: adults go to the stores and buy a ton of toys. Then they do all kinds of nonsensical crap and the kid does whatever he or she wants.

Is this the upbringing they wish their kids to have? Consume endlessly? Really disturbing to me.

Sounds nightmarish

It is and these channels have millions of subscribers.

It’s difficult to understand why parents would subject their children to it and to promote this way of life. It’s so foreign to me.

It's post-consumerism at its worse: consume our display of consumption. Ads from as far back as the 50s have taught us NOT what to want so much as HOW to want. These channels you speak of are an exploitation of that.

Vladimir and Nicky.

So gross my brothers kids want to watch that shit nonstop.

What disturbs me the most is that parents nowadays don’t know how to set boundaries to their children, they don’t teach them respect . They act as if they were their slaves. It’s really sick. There’s no teaching of values. Just consumption. Most parents seem to hate spending time with their kids. They feel guilty for that and they give them material things to compensate. 😕

They expect the schools to teach them that too. Not sure about you, but my folks fell into that for a bit, when I was in school.

I noticed many parents have this romanticized view of childhood, where kids shouldn't be doing anything. My friend's kids though, accompany him to work and another's gets up early to help raise turkeys and goats.

I hate those videos and block them
