You should look into the history of the solstice celebrations that Christianity coopted and warped to create christmas. The solstice was far from just a date in the calendar before Christians decided it was Jesus birthday.

Yes! Defenetly! But looks like you live in a Christian country. Sometimes it is better to enjoy, make ppl happy and share happiness than making a point imho
I didn't say anything about boycotting other celebrations, though some that are purely religious we already do. Just thinking out loud that for my family, under 1 roof, the solstice and more pagan style connection to the earth and seasons based celebration would be more true to our values.
