What worries me isn’t an openly hostile state. It’s the smiling one.

I didn't say anything about boycotting other celebrations, though some that are purely religious we already do. Just thinking out loud that for my family, under 1 roof, the solstice and more pagan style connection to the earth and seasons based celebration would be more true to our values.

You should look into the history of the solstice celebrations that Christianity coopted and warped to create christmas. The solstice was far from just a date in the calendar before Christians decided it was Jesus birthday.

Fellow #atheist of nostr, do you celebrate on the 25th or the solstice? Why? My family is talking about switching because why let the christians pervert the holiday if we aren't christians.

My interest in Nostr has lost its spark. I think I’m done being curious about it.

I don’t know if it’s because I have a growing family I want to dedicate 100% of all that I have on them or Nostr and the internet in general have never really added any lasting value to my life… unless of course if it’s necessary for work.

This is my personal call to retreat from the digital life and live fully offline in the real. I’ve always known this time was coming and I believe that time has come.
