In my early days of trying to escape the surveillance state, I tried exploring the dark web and even joining the social media there.

They were unstable - one hour they worked, an hour later the sever would go down forever.

There were lots of crazy people there, with lots of (at best) sad and tragic life stories or even creepy, immoral content.

I had to click on links carefully lest I see something I’d never be able to unsee.

My heart rate would race when trying to navigate my way through the dark web.

With all precautions, one click was all it took me to a nasty page!

Only a glimpse of that page left me utterly sleepless for one night and it’s something I cannot erase off my head.

But this has never been my experience here on #Nostr.

There’s no central server. The people here are nice people I know and their posts are what I’m looking forward to seeing.
