With an overwhelming 51:2 vote, the EU parliament has decided *AGAINST CHAT CONTROL* proposed by the EU Council. It included warrantless mass surveillance of phones and circumventing end-to-end encryption.
The fight is not over yet.
We will see how the Council adjusts its stance.

Watched a few of the recent debates in the parliament. You get the impression that the (elected) parliament doesn't agree with many things the (unelected) commission is doing. Rightfully.
