I spent 4 hours in 2 towns looking for a simple offset smoker.

Nada.

Had to get the thing I swore I would never use. How do you not find an offset smoker at a Home Depot, an Ace Hardware, a local farm and ranch store, or 2 Walmarts?

Traeger’s rule.

Though the best things I have ever cooked outside have been on offset smokers: they have on occasions yielded the worst. Pellet grill gets you 90% of the way to the best ever, every time.
