I used Apple Pay, to purchase a product via a Shopify website, and yet I still get flagged by a automated fraud department...

Just trying to buy deodorant

Why?

I think it's because I used my email jake@jesw.xyz which the fraud teams don't like

Could it be the case that the future of all e-commerce is here on Nostr?

SO MANY DUMB STEPS IN LEGACY ECOMMERCE THAT WE NO LONGER NEED TO "TRUST" THE COUNTERPARTY IN THE SAME WAY

As a investor, I am always look for 10x on the status quo, and it's hard to argue that Nostr isn't a 10x in a bunch of places

Why wont Nostr payment processes disrupt the likes of Apple Pay etc?

You don't really need Nostr for that though, BTC pay server can receive payments in permissionless money.

What Nostr will be good for is a global permissionless marketplace. Think silk road 2.0 but with no single administrator or developer to arrest.

It's going to take more time to implement & iron out the UX but Amethyst already has something running.

Ok that’s a helpful re-frame

Had the business listed a pay in btc options, think Zaprite / btc pay eg, then no need to go to Nostr as well

So actually it’s the discoverability of the e-commerce site in the first place that Nostr is a bigger deal for?

That retail business can market itself forever, safe in the knowledge that it’s warm leads (think audience) can never be taken away

Wow it’s fun iterating live and in public like this (not always going to be right, but being able to course correct is amazing)

Ecash protocols like cashu will also facilitate the payment side

Nostr will be the protocol that will allow business to set their calendar/menu/shop whatever they sell on Nostr and be available in all clients

Think of the booking of an hotel, the availability-reviews will be the same on Airbnb, Booking etc

Nostr is this social graph that follows you anywhere, ecash is the payment with privacy

Fountain app podcast is around for a while, they now use Nostr for their social layer, reviews, follows etc. It’s been a great choice for them, can’t recommend this app enough
