*TSC Sightings: Mtoni Palace*

Mtoni Palace served as the home for Sultan Seyyid Said’s only legitimate wife, along with many secondary wives and hundreds of children.

It was also the birthplace of the famous ‘Arabian Princess’, Princess Salma bint Said, later known as Emily Ruete, born to Seyyid Said bin Sultan and his concubine Jilfidan.

This magnificent building, constructed in 1828, is located along the coast near Zanzibar Town, in Mtoni.
