I'm in two minds about this.

In my utopia, schools would ban portable surveillance devices, both for people studying *and* working there. They would also supply both with devices for schooltime use, whose hardware, software, and networking fully respect privacy and other universal human rights and freedoms.

But what's more likely, in the short term, is banning the latter, and forcing people to use the former.

Good point. Of course we know better; it's not the phone itself that harms mental health but the addictive apps and surveillance networks DataFarmers are allowed to deliver *using* the phone. See the recent announcement by Goggle that they plan to force everyone with an account to supply a bunch of personal information, then *publish* it 🤦‍♂️
