I always know fall is near when these guys start building booby traps in all the walking paths. Nothing like a face full of web in the dark!

So true
Yup!

Spiders always put up such a huge number of webs on our fav trails as kids, we always left a 4-5” stick at the head of each trail that we could sweep up and down in front of us to clear them. It was a bit more of a challenge when hauling through them on a bike. The worst instance I got a face full of web while at a full sprint and sucked a good sized spider right up my nose. I had to hold the other nostril and do a “farmer blow” to get it out. Gross.
I’ve ingested innumerable amounts while deer and coon hunting and night ops in the army. It was always a good laugh watching the city boys freak out with their first. 😆
Hahaha. So cool to run into someone who spent time raccoon hunting. Don’t meet many of us. I owe my current comfort level with being in the bush at night to those many hours tromping though the dark to catch up to the hounds every time they treed one. We used to take pelts up to North Bay to sell every year. My Dad paid for nearly half of our first house with fur sales. nostr:npub16vrkgd28wq6n0h77lqgu8h4fdu0eapxgyj0zqq6ngfvjf2vs3nuq5mp2va is another Nostrich who used to run hounds for raccoons as a youngster with his Dad.
