The Honda Pilot Trailsport (2025) is one of the last lines of low-tech, affordable, mid-size, 3 row SUVs that doesn't completely suck.

- Best all-around family vehicle. Behaves like a mini van but drives like a truck. Can go over a curve in an emergency. Tight; even the wife can park it with practice.

- Works on countryside roads or for camping. Tows a small load. Roof storage is functional. Not so expensive that you need to baby it. It should last: it's a Honda.

- No turbo engine. No hybrid bullshit. Interior is rough and basic. Kid ready. Teenager ready. Very grey man compatible. Keep the stickers off of it. Get an outdoor colorway so you don't need to wash it every week.

- Gets all the basics right; USBc charging, no backseat screens, great storage capacity, huge sun roof, steel collision bars, intercom, hidden storage for breakdown and medical kits, infotainment screen in front is low-fi and works with #GrapheneOS.

One of the last new lines of vehicles that are still #WorthTheSats.

I need to get rid of my car for something new for both family and outdoors/camping.

Personally I don’t trust anything made post Covid. If the cars from the 80s are any indication of what happens to production during inflation….it suggests stay away.

The car market is trash. You have to gamble on something old if you want to get atleast 300k+ mi in my opinion.

I got a 2020 4Runner and have been very happy with it. It’s fairly low tech and hasn’t had any major issues

I was looking at a 4Runner or a 6 speed Tacoma.

That or stick with Subaru in a forester, Outback or crosstrek. I think I trust Toyota more than Subaru, my WRX is a nightmare
