Yes, glyphosate poisons the crops, and beer isn’t what it used to be. But that’s not why people drink less. It’s not about health. It’s not about avoiding worse hangovers. Most would welcome more brain damage... if it helped them escape the pain of facing reality.

But they no longer drink to forget. They no longer need to.

Narcotics, algorithms, infinite scrolling are more precise, more effective, more sterile tools for numbing the abyss.

Beer nowadays is mostly a fizzy drink with added alcohol and beer flavour - unless you buy from a small brewery which you know does it proper. Even then, the issue with how the hops is produced remains.

Drink shop bought wine and I feel like shit next day. Drink home made wine and all is good. I think it is primarily the sulfur they add to preserve shop wine.
