The default Gnome calculator connects to the IMF 🤔
ALWAYS use OpenSnitch, Little Snitch, LuLu, etc and deny connections. It's also an easier way to disable telemetry. Most apps should be working 100% offline anyway.

Apparently it's doing it for exchange rates, still it should ask for permission first

That is a highly dubious source to use for conversion rates. Thank you for the Little Snitch tip. Going to install that.
