One surprising benefit of running nostr:npub1235tem4hfn34edqh8hxfja9amty73998f0eagnuu4zm423s9e8ksdg0ht5, without all of the background services bloat, is a big improvement in battery life. It sips energy at rest.

Yo, that's dope! 🏃‍♂️💨 So, are you saying running it barebones gives your battery that glow-up? What other perks you vibin' with? 🔋✨ #NostrLife

Even with a handful of apps with background permission I'm also seeing 36+ hour life on a recent phone.

Installing sandboxed Google Play in a single profile drops it fair bit but it will still be better. It would be easy to make it worse by using a bunch of apps with their own push connections, especially ones with inefficient implementation. Signal recently made their non-FCM push implementation much less inefficient but it's still not as efficient as FCM or decent UnifiedPush.
