Ok so the eBay effect. Thank you all for the information. I was curious how it worked because I don’t recall ever seeing a ad or promotion online for individuals.
Not to mention that having such a large site makes it more likely that customers would trust them with payment information than if a single worker had their own site.
People forget that the masses trust centralised services with payments much more readily than individuals.
There is also technical knowledge needed to run a site that some creators won’t be interested in handling
