My father in law works a part time job and makes $12,000 a year. His property taxes are around $12,000 a year. Therefore, an old man has to work just to pay the government for a house he already owns.

Yes but ser public schools are free

if they weren't, nobody would pay to send kids to them ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

When legislation was introduced for school to become mandatory in Massachusetts, only two percentage of the population agreed with the decision...

Now you're a criminal if your child isn't "educated" in a school...

More like brainwashing factories...

Free mind poison. How kind of them.

And on top of that, the school those taxes are paying for is teaching his grandchildren (and the innumerable hostile aliens with whom they are forced to associate) that their ancestors were terrible "racists" and that ending their family lines forever by having their genitals cut off is a viable, even laudable, "choice."

Dystopian.

Fuck the goddamn government to hell.

Yes. ๐Ÿค

Seeing a lot of content about uk homeowners refusing to pay property tax, many claim to have not paid in over 20years, if what they are claiming is true, millions will follow suit.

The state will try and intimidate anyone attempting to rebel but there are always people willing to go to any means necessary

Thankfully Americans have guns.

Sadly, he is renting

Agreed, he is clearly not a free man, almost none of us are.

If it is anything like where I live, a property tax is used to pay for the maintenance (roads, sewers, water, electricity) and services (social programs, buses, fire fighters, police) related to a municipality. It is about paying to have access to a community. At different seasons in our lives, we pay too much or too little.

It isnโ€™t paying if not paying means you get thrown in jail.

I believe not paying is the same as stealing within your community so it should be punishable.

The conversation should focus on how municipal government can change to lower property taxes or come up with an alternative system so citizens are fairly taxed for shared services that they use.
