Jeff, I have an honest question.

I understand that it's important to build on the new system as much as possible. This will naturally increase its usefulness.

Many of the people interested in putting in the work to make Bitcoin a success are stuck working dayjobs at the moment. Me included. It will become increasingly difficult for anyone in the future to transition to a bitcoin standard as the existing reality worsens.

As a redditor on r/antiwork puts it: "It's the whole "idle hands are the devil's plaything". You keep everyone working so hard for basic survival they can't demand better conditions."

Do you have any comments on the situation from an individual perspective? Obviously, everybody should do what they can. Is there any way to improve the outlook for those interested in moving in the more optimal direction?

Great question and I can see from it that you are already starting to move your energy to the new system.

Best advice I have is: Start - either by going to lightning conferences or befriending and helping promote those working on projects that you find interesting. (Even in your spare time) Many of the skills needed to build these companies are skills currently being fiat mined and meeting/helping those entrepreneurs and teams puts you on the radar as they look to expand.

The other way is to identify a problem that needs solving (by using the new rails) and setting out to solve that problem.

Thank you nostr:npub1s05p3ha7en49dv8429tkk07nnfa9pcwczkf5x5qrdraqshxdje9sq6eyhe for the good info.

I had a similar question.

My current situation has been that they don't seem to want me in the fiat mines, but I'm not on anyone's radar in the #Bitcoin space yet. Also, it's hard for me to get to conferences at the moment.

(Do you know of any events in the Atlantic provinces of Canada?)

So thus, I spend my time here on #nostr interacting with all you great people and learning lots. Also, I try to orange pill those I can in real life.

Glad I found this...kinda gives me hope...

🙏

Im mildly autistic feeling like I'm doomed to work a fiat 9-5 forever because i suck at people-ing, but at least it's in an industry i enjoy(cannabis) and I get paid fully in bitcoin now thanks to cashapp...😅

I’m in a similar situation as you, I want to move all my energy to a system I align more with but choose not to leave my fiat job yet.

I use my job as an opportunity to talk about bitcoin when it makes sense, I let it be known I’m interested and involved with it and willing to help others learn. I’ve had multiple people ask me to help them set up a wallet, a node, set up a miner and buy btc over the years, I don’t push it on anyone. I do what I can right now in my situation and I imagine if you’re helping others learn you are having a bigger impact than you might think. 🤝
