I think the residents are right to be upset. Put yourself in their shoes.

In terms of solutions … I dunno. But maybe compensating them for the trouble by buying their property and offering additional money for all of the trouble would be a decent step 1.

I don’t like the rest of the reporting vibe - very hit piece like but I think coming from this angle they are just fuming and would refuse to see any positives - maybe rightfully so.

They've been also upset when the previous aluminum plant used that energy?

Did you even watch it? Seems not. Their primary concern is the noise.

Without the farm, their primary concern would probably be unenployment 🤷‍♂️

'wash my hands but don't make me wet'-attitude.

Nah I didn't watch till the end tbh, didn't like the interviewer.

Those people are retired and on a fixed income.

I think i can relate to his concern, imagine living close to a giant CPU that everyday you can hear it processing something and the heat from the CPU stays with you all day 24/7 a year, never stop .

I'll watch the whole thing after work, but you already partly convinced me that it's probably an annoyance.

I've seen a documentary about that exact plant some time ago, where they've been reporting about all the jobs it created after the aluminun plant closed, so I was not entirely neutral.

I was thinking how to eliminate the noise, liquid cooling could satisfy both parties I guess.

It’s definitely a hit piece and could do without all of the obvious angles it’s taking to make bitcoin look bad. I’m not going to deny that. But if the rest, as reported, is true, then I feel for the residents. Of course, I’m not dying on this hill because I can’t be certain we have all the details.

The part I like most is when that 'economic director' tells the interviewer that he 'really, personally, doesn't care' 😂😂

That's epic, like a real live Ron Swanson 🏆
