Congratulations! It's the land that's most important, your own territory. If you make your property work for you in some way, then it's not a financial burden but an asset.

Grow your own food, install solar panels/hot water if that makes sense where you live (we don't pay anything to heat our water thanks to our solar hot water system), even a peaceful, fun or relaxing garden provides benefits.

life spends the resource so it's expected

It’s a great starter home, but small property.

Unfortunately I’m not in a position in life yet to buy a lot of land in my area of FL. Way too expensive still.

Florida would be great for solar and a small, productive garden could provide a lot. Enjoy.
