Some people (Tim Pool for example) have predicted a civil war in the US. I don't think that will happen. I think it is much more likely that people will vote with their feet and separate into two distinct cultures, akin to cell division. A lot of the early-movers have alreay moved.

Consider this situation: https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1700297475628871719

Due to this law, right-wing late-movers who really don't want to leave California are now rather forced to leave or else they will lose their children.

The US will split. I hope it splits peacefully.

Splitting peacefully is in everyone’s interest

Yes. There is also a legal mechanism. State governments can secede from the union.

No, Democrats in California are going to have rude awakening in the coming election. Rubber band effect. I hope that is not the case nation wide

Do you live in Cali?

Nope but used to live in LA

I doubt it. when have we ever done it peacefully?

It’s a damn shame. It’s strange hearing civil war in the zeitgeist. Scary thing is they are already lobbing humans at one another (immigrants). Value for human life…gone...

The split may already be here. Reds and blues aren’t mixing. Completely different value system, soon different education systems. One stat that amazed me is something like only 3% of marriages are purple (red and blue).

I don’t see a civil war though. Maybe it’s hope.

I have so many questions. How can I blanket allow "us politics"? Who triggered this warning? What if I run a bot to trigger similar warnings about each and ever post? ...

Only if you'd get rid of the swamp that's DC, I'm pretty sure they won't just roll over and die.

That is the biggest hurdle. It has to be done by the states. The federal government will not like it though. Last time states tried to leave, there was a war.
