Why does nostr work just fine with amethyst but web clients can't find my profile info at all?

I can see your profile in Pretty Good Apps desktop

Try getting rid of the space in your name and username and see if that makes a difference

Or maybe you need to set up nip05 … ?

I tried searching by npub and came up empty. The effect is that even with a browser extension I can't use and nostr web clients.

I see you when I search damus by your npub.

I also see you if I search by your npub on the primal iPhone app. But not if I search by your name or username

Which web apps?

Iris, coracle, nostter

I might have something screwed up with Alby.

I can find myself if I search dwigton@getalby.com I am checking the npub it is listing.

Maybe try adding purplepag.es to your relay list, re-save your profile, and the log back in? I'm not seeing a published relay list on your profile, which might make it harder to find.

Were you on mobile or wifi when creating your keys Daniel?

Home network.

That seems to have made me visible again, but I am not sure how to save my profile with relays listed. Alby doesn't have that option that I can tell. I can't post via Coracle, I am guessing that is because it doesn't know where to post without relays listed.

Not that I know of, but several apps are clearing the relay list on kind3 to force the migration to the inbox model usually without letting the user know they are doing it.

Oof. Which ones?

Are you searching for your pubkey - starts with npub…

Make sure the web clients are looking for your profile info in the right relays. Amethyst may not be storing profile info on the same relays as the other clients are checking.
