Saifhouse or Guy Swan should hop on the opportunity and experiment. I want to have the way to pay the authors (with fair split to publishers, void actors) *directly* for the audio versions.
And if I can just easily find it in my podcast app, that's the ideal distribution UX for me.

Would there be maybe some older titles where you can convince the author and publishers to test it out?
It can help reaching new audience, and even revive the dissipating revenue streams.
Could be a nice case study at minimum costs.
