Going head to head with the jaf-man?
But you will destroy me!
5GB for a game in 1998 must have been crazy.
It wasnt 5GB in 1998. Installed from CD though. Must be some updates/enhancements. Original resolution was 640x480, 256 color.
Yeah I didn’t think gigabytes existed in the 90s
In 1996 I bought a ridiculously large hard drive. It was 1600 Megabytes. I think I paid $300 or $400 for that. Also had a 1 GB Jaz drive.
Oh damn, I didn’t know there was a follow up to the Zip drive
I bought the jaz thinking it'd be better. It could store more, but without wide support nobody else I knew had one while zip drives and disks were more prolific where you could pickup the cartridges at the store. And eventually the jaz had mechanical problems and became ewaste.
I remember trying to run Pinball Fantasies in DOS directly from a zip disk. It was the speed equivalent of single-speed CDROM. HDD space was hard to come by back then. ☹️
Don't get me started
I remember typing my buddy's phone number into StarCraft so we could play over dial up.
My favourite. I have thousands of hours spent in this game.
