No sources for you but Debian is the base of most linux distros
Much appreciated to both of you this gives me some points to start with and start reading.

It can feel overwhelming.
To start with something that works, to increase your confidence and enjoyment, consider Linux Mint or Ubuntu.
But keep in mind that both are based on Debian. And if you are the kind of person who likes to do it the hard way at first to learn more quickly, go straight Debian.
Excellent. Thank you. I’m a bit of both hah! But in my effort to maximize my sovereignty I’ve decided learning open source OS and at least trivial coding is a good idea. Saylor.org has been helpful for diving into bitcoin script.
