They love it when you just cut a melon in half and place it upside down on the top of the bed
Good tip. Any idea how to get them to pay rent on time?
I mean that’s perfect. Keep it moist as worms breath through their skin. Your worms will probably be happier and multiply faster than mine because I don’t near that level of scraps, most of my worm
Food is shredded paper and cardboard.
there a few things when it comes to feeding. overfeeding is a thing. two reasons. 1. if it can't be consumed fast enough you end up with a rotting mess. 2. there's a lot of moisture in that much food. too wet, different mess.
also, consider feeding on a quarter or half of the top. rotate around the surface. the worms will migrate to the food if they're hungrey,, but can avoid it and come up for air if they want. if food isn't disappearing within a few days, you're overfeeding.
vermicomposting is considered "cold" composting. too much food can heat up as it breaks down which may not be good for the worms.
I have raised worms, I speak from experience. :)
