This is the first social media experience, where being female makes it 10x harder to be seen, since Reddit went down the drain. πŸ˜‚

Girls have cooties.

We see you πŸ‘‹πŸ»

I feel like I'm buried 6 feet under. πŸ™ˆ

Basic human nature.

Men want soneone that has their back yet challenges them enough with out bringing them down.

Boys want something pretty that makes them look good in front of their social circle.

The algo favours the latter.

There is no algo here so best get digging, at least you know how far you've got to go.. πŸ«‚πŸ€£πŸ‘πŸ»

No algo has ever given me any preference. πŸ˜‚ Algos are just used to ban me. That's why I'm here, after all. Kept getting banned and kicked out.

And my pretty-privelege is so huge that it could fit on the back of a postage stamp.

If i was single I'd lick the back of that stamp🀣🀣

Ok, even i think that statement is creepy 😳 🀣

That's made me laugh this morning 🀣🀣

what got you banned?

Purported hate speech.

do they allow creating new pseudonymous accounts and saying "this is my new account" on an old post or something? or is it a complete ban via ID or something?

Twitter was where I got into the habit of having a bunch of different accounts, since a couple where always frozen.

Telegram is telephone-based, so tricky.

But I'm easy to recognize, from my writing style. Get rebanned quickly.

Learn not to give a shit, that's step one. πŸ˜‚

And if you have too much attention, you are doing something wrong...

Nostr the equalizer

I'm trying to market OtherStuff that would appeal to women and there are hardly any women to market to, and the ones that stop by don't stick around. I'm exhausted by the effort.

A sausage factory is the death of every product that isn't a video game, a vehicle, an electric drill, or a place where men can post anime and porn and remind each other to stack sats.

I am also suffering from the fact that men always eventually fall into a single hierarchy, so the feed is increasingly just a handful of male "leaders" SHOUTING INTO A MEGAPHONE THAT EVERYONE MUST NOW STACK THE SATS.

/rant

πŸ«‚

Never been good at hierarchies of any kind. I just eventually piss everyone off

I miss gunstr ppl here though.

And stacked sats before megaphones were cool but echo chambers are comforting. Sometimes I need that.

Yeah, sometimes it's fun. But some more variety, would be great.

I'm here, friend. ;)

And thank God for that, fr. You are a joy to have around.

Your posts do appear in my feed from time to time; and other times I scroll your profile and replies.

Wondering if this coming break I should re-design Minitru as a content-wanted filter instead of an unwanted-content filter? Inherently easier problem.

I don't know, but what's missing is something dynamic, that prioritizes particular messages, rather than going by strict chronology.

What I usually do, and what most people do, is look at lists (not follows, topical lists or frens lists, etc.) and particular profiles and then scroll "the rest" feed. Wish the stuff I want to see first, would just appear first, in the same feed.

So if Minitru created a list of posts... ?

Okay, will see what can be done.

For individual customisation, I'll need a way to allow users to select a number of ways that they want to use to signal to Minitru that they are interested in a post.

Possibilities:

- Replies

- Re-posts

- Quotes

- Reactions

-- all?

-- choose from a list?

Each of the above, but by a followed npub?

Any of the above and NOT reported by user

Any of the above and NOT reported by a followed npub

I don't want to accidently re-invent the "rage algorithm", so users being able to include some reactions but not others would seem to be important.

I would prefer, if you kept "follows" out of it, actually, since I don't really have any. πŸ˜‚ Well, maybe like "they're on a list from the npub" and not merely follows. I have other, topical lists.

Has write permissions to the relay XYZ, would be a good one.

Quotes and replies are really all that matter. Nothing else signifies continuing interest.

And not reported by an npub.

100%, we don't want to overlap functionality with lists.

I was a little too terse in my previous post - I only meant to suggest people might want an option to be more likely to see content that people they follow have replied/reacted/reposted.

Ah, yes.
