Make few different designs, choose one. You can print it on a special sticker and add it to your skin as henna type of ink to see if you will really like it.

But if its not something super tiny, sit on the chosen design for a year. Even if you love it today, you may hate it in a month or a week.

When you choose an artist make sure you discuss everything and tell that person if you want all the details like in the picture or if only some will be passed on, make sure you know how it will exactly look.

This is what I did for my last tattoo. I got temp tattoo paper and over a couple of months tweaked it to what I wanted. changed the size, orientation, removed lines that weren't working. really glad I did it that way. now I've got exactly what I want.
